Eumundi Pedestrian Bridge and Boardwalk

Introduction

Incon was engaged by DM Composites to provide fabrication Quality Assurance for the bridge manufacture, review, and certification of a pedestrian bridge and FRP boardwalk system at Seib Road and Eumundi–Noosa Road, Queensland. The project forms part of a Sunshine Coast Council active transport initiative, aimed at improving pedestrian and cyclist safety across the North Maroochy River corridor.

description

The project consists of a new active transport link, including:

40m single-span pedestrian bridge
Raised FRP boardwalks on both sides of the bridge
Pile-supported substructure system
Handrails, barriers, and grating deck system

The bridge eliminates unsafe pedestrian use of the existing road bridge and creates a dedicated crossing corridor
